NOVATION The substitution of a new obligation for an old one; substitution of new parties to an existing obligation, as where the parties to an agreement accept a new debtor in place of an old one. HEIR A person who inherits under a will or a person who succeeds to property by the laws of descent if the decedent dies without a will (intestate). CLUSTER DEVELOPMENT The grouping of housing units on less than normal size homesites, with the remaining land being devoted to common areas. |
